happy assumption day

One of my favorite holidays. I know it's really about Mary going to heaven, but I just like the word "assumption" used for a holiday. And look, there are e-cards!

Anyone know any good Boston movies? Every other movie is filmed in New York or Chicago, but the only Boston movie I can think of is Good Will Hunting, and I'm not a big fan.

you could start there? it's not a great piece of art, but "With Honors" gets me every time. i think it's one of those moment movies.

Wow, you really do have your own blog over here. Elk says she'll start a boston blog, so make sure she actually does it. It would be hilarious if the five of you all had blogs, and you were the only ones.

Maybe Wonder Boys is set in Boston? Even if it's not, it will dazzle you.

be sure not to confuse Harvard (the setting for With Honors) and Boston. Harvard is outside Boston in Cambridge. And I think Wonder Boys is set in W. Pennsylvania, Pittsburgh, perhaps. I agree, the movie is excellent. academia in all its stinkin' glory. (we really missed out at cov.)

well, if linnea can name Good Will Hunting (Cambridge) as a Boston movie, then dammit, can't I, too?

actually, Harvard's not really outside Boston unless Boston is really small. I'm living in Watertown which is farther away from "Boston" than Harvard, but I still like to consider that I'm moving to Boston. We'll see what the natives think.

I don't have anything to add. But I miss you.

well, i only made the distinction b/c a harvard-attending friend of mine kept correcting me when i referred to the locale as boston, and having zero familiarity with the area, i then assumed that harvard must be further outside the city than i had previously thought. so, boston it is...whatever
