wish I was warmer

I just read Funke's blog and she told me that blogging doesn't need your brain and I thought, that sounds good right now, so I decided to blog. It's cold in Columbia this week. I thought I moved to oh my sweet Carolina to get away from this. Oh well, no freezing to death at the bus stop this year anyway. Yesterday afternoon I drove over to Goodwill and bought me some sweaters. I realized I'm missing all of Keri and Tami's sweaters so I probably need some. Now, I'm not a thrift store kind of girl. Why do I want something someone wore in '93 and then rejected? But then I remember that for the last few years most of my clothes have come from those end-of-the-semester giveaway piles. Leaving college is a bad idea in so many ways.

Here is a useful phrase I learned the other day while studying about compliments in Polish:
Tadeusz, naprawde masz rewelacyjne spodnie!
'Tadeusz, you have really terrific pants!'

Haha. Well, if what I say inspires Linnea to post, then it was well worth the saying. :)

"Leaving college is a bad idea in so many ways." Oh yeah. What I miss is the people who give back massages. I need to find me a masseuse and make them my friend, because I am never mercenary in my friendships like that.

"You shop in a thrift store. Or a junkyard." ~Teen Girl Squad. Thrift storing leaves you looking either like a hipster or someone's grandma. Ironic that there is nothing in between. I guess it's all junk, but to be cool, it's got to be really old junk.

Oh, and now I know the Polish word for lip AND pants...so fluent, now.

Larry:
Ten days after I turned 8,
Got my lips stuck in a gate
My friends all laughed…

And I just stood there until the fire department came
and broke the lock with a crowbar and I had to spend
the next six weeks in lip rehab with this kid named Oscar
who got stung by a bee right on the lip and we couldn’t
even talk to each other until the fifth week because both
our lips were so swollen and when he did start speaking
he just spoke polish and I only knew like three words in polish
except now I know four because Oscar taught me the
word for lip, “Usta”.

I would just like to point out your Indirect Object use: "Yesterday afternoon I drove over to Goodwill and bought me some sweaters." You truly are back in the South. And at least all you need is a sweater (you need you some sweaters!) and not a parka, coat, scarf, gloves, face mask, and over-mittens. And snow boots. Just some sweaters.

I miss sweaters almost as much as I miss college right now. It was in the nineties this evening. We went bowling, and I played terribly!
